Role Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the organization's financial management, reporting, planning, treasury, taxation, and regulatory finance activities. The successful candidate will provide accurate financial insights to support business decisions while ensuring strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, and effective management of the institution's financial resources.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review financial transactions and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Coordinate the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
- Prepare financial forecasts and monitor performance against approved budgets.
- Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
- Oversee treasury activities and ensure efficient utilization of available funds.
- Monitor banking relationships and support effective cash management.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory and tax-related returns.
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and relevant authorities.
- Monitor changes in financial and regulatory requirements and ensure appropriate implementation.
Financial Analysis
- Analyze financial performance, income, expenditure, and key financial indicators.
- Identify financial risks, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improved profitability.
- Prepare management reports and financial insights for senior leadership.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- ACA or ACCA is mandatory.
Experience
- 6–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably within banking, microfinance, financial services, or a regulated environment.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, and financial analysis.
- Experience managing regulatory and statutory financial reporting requirements.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial control frameworks.
