Job Summary
You will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care, performing a wide range of operative procedures to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and deformities. The role involves pre‑operative evaluation, surgical intervention, and post‑operative management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence‑based care. This position requires precision, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to respond effectively in high‑pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of surgical procedures, including emergency, elective, and trauma surgeries, in accordance with clinical best practices.
- Conduct thorough pre‑operative evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and treatment planning for surgical patients.
- Provide comprehensive post‑operative care, including monitoring recovery, managing complications, and coordinating follow‑up treatment.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective surgical outcomes.
- Maintain accurate medical records, surgical notes, and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, risks, recovery expectations, and long‑term care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control practices, and continuous professional development to enhance surgical care delivery.
Qualification Requirements
- MBBS degree from an accredited medical school.
- 3 years post-fellowship qualification (FWACS, FMCS)
- Valid MDCN registration
- Emergency and elective surgical procedures
- Trauma care
- Pre‑operative and post‑operative management
- Surgical decision‑making and critical care
- Use of modern surgical technologies and techniques
- Research publications or academic teaching experience
- Experience in laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgery
