Remuneration: ₦200,000 – ₦500,000 Monthly Gross

Role Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Analyst to assess loan applications, evaluate borrowers' creditworthiness, analyze financial and supporting information, and provide sound credit recommendations. The role will support responsible lending decisions by identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with established credit policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Assessment & Analysis

  • Review and assess loan applications, supporting documents, and borrower information.
  • Analyze applicants' income, financial position, cash flows, repayment capacity, and credit history.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals, businesses, and prospective borrowers.
  • Identify potential credit risks, inconsistencies, and warning indicators during the assessment process.

Credit Recommendation

  • Prepare clear and well-supported credit appraisal reports and recommendations.
  • Recommend loan approvals, modifications, or declines based on established lending criteria.
  • Ensure credit recommendations are supported by appropriate financial and risk analysis.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk applications to the appropriate approval authority.

Portfolio & Credit Monitoring

  • Monitor existing loan accounts to identify early signs of repayment or credit deterioration.
  • Review borrower performance and repayment patterns.
  • Support the identification and management of delinquent or potentially problematic accounts.
  • Provide relevant credit information to support portfolio quality monitoring.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure credit files contain complete and accurate documentation before approval and disbursement.
  • Verify compliance with internal credit policies, lending limits, and approval procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit assessments and recommendations.
  • Support internal and regulatory reviews by providing required credit documentation and information.


Requirements
Education

Bachelor's Degree in:

  • Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, A related discipline
  • Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in credit, banking, risk management, or financial analysis will be an added advantage.


Experience

  • Experience in credit analysis, loan assessment, lending, or financial risk assessment.
  • Experience within microfinance banking, commercial banking, fintech, or other financial services environments is preferred.
  • Practical understanding of credit appraisal and borrower assessment processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and other financial information.
  • Good understanding of lending policies, credit risk principles, and loan documentation.
