About the Job

You will serve as the primary custodian of health, safety, and environmental standards across all film production sites. You will ensure that cast, crew, contractors, and visitors operate in a safe environment and that production activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry best practices & safety policies. The role requires proactive risk anticipation, strong control implementation, and active promotion of a safety-first culture on set.


Outcomes You Are Responsible For

  • Zero serious incidents or accidents throughout the production period
  • Full compliance with local HSE regulations and industry best practices. Daily safety briefings and drills delivered consistently
  • First aid, fire safety equipment, and evacuation routes fully available and operational. Timely and accurate incident reporting with corrective actions. Proper waste management, spill prevention, and environmental protection on all locations

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

On-Set Safety Management

  • Conduct daily safety inspections of filming locations, sets, equipment, and work areas.
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions before filming begins.
  • Ensure safe setup and teardown of sets, props, lighting rigs, scaffolding, and technical equipment.
  • Monitor high-risk activities including stunts, pyrotechnics, special effects, water work, night shoots, and crowd scenes.
  • Enforce compliance with PPE requirements and safe work procedures.

Risk Assessment & Compliance

  • Prepare and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
  • Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations and production safety standards.
  • Review and approve safety plans from stunt coordinators, SFX teams, riggers, and contractors.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Develop and communicate emergency response plans for each location.
  • Ensure availability and readiness of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and evacuation routes.
  • Coordinate with medical teams, security, and local authorities when required.

Training & Safety Briefings

  • Lead daily safety briefings (toolbox talks) before filming begins.
  • Train cast and crew on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and hazard awareness.
  • Provide specialized safety guidance for stunts, weapons handling, vehicles, drones, and special effects.

Incident Management

  • Respond immediately to accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and logs throughout production.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (BSc) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • HSE certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISPON, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years in HSE roles; Experience in film, TV, construction, or events is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment, emergency response, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
  • Ability to work long hours and irregular schedules
