ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Strategy will be expected to develop a 5 year strategic plan in alignment with the organisation objectives, not neglecting industry and regulatory developments.

He/She will serve as a key advisor to the organisation's leadership, responsible for shaping and driving long‑term strategic direction within the organization, and across the insurance industry. This role oversees the development of forward‑looking policies, industry initiatives, and strategic programmes that strengthens the organization reputation, competitiveness, resilience, and alignment with set priorities.

The position requires a leader who can translate industry trends, regulatory developments, and stakeholder insights into actionable strategies that supports the organization and its stakeholders. 

This role demands public speaking experience, analytical capability, policy awareness, and the ability to influence decision‑making at the highest levels.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree or MBA preferred
  • BSc degree in business, economics, or related disciplines
  • 10 years minimum experience with 7 years in core strategy & growth related roles within the insurance or structured financial services firms
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in strategic leadership roles
  • Practical experience in public speaking, available to travel on short notice within and outside Nigeria; policy advocacy experience; excellent communication skills
  • Quality understanding of the Nigeria's dynamic economic environment
