Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Field Operations Manager to oversee field activities across agricultural sourcing communities within the Adamawa and Banyo regions of Cameroon.
The successful candidate will serve as the key link between field operations and executive leadership, ensuring effective farmer engagement, operational efficiency, stakeholder management, and seamless coordination of field teams and logistics activities. This role requires strong leadership capability, cultural awareness, and the ability to operate successfully in remote and rural environments.
Core Responsibilities
Field Operations Management
- Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Field Officers operating across assigned communities.
- Monitor field activities to ensure timely farmer registration, data collection, farm verification, and mapping exercises.
- Ensure operational standards, reporting requirements, and field processes are consistently followed.
- Track field performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Consolidate field updates and prepare weekly operational reports for management review.
Community Engagement & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with traditional leaders, community representatives, and local stakeholders.
- Support community entry processes and facilitate positive engagement within operational areas.
- Monitor community developments and provide timely updates on issues that may affect operations.
- Represent the organization during stakeholder meetings, community engagements, and official visits.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure efficient movement of products and materials.
- Monitor supply chain activities and address operational challenges that may impact delivery schedules.
- Escalate potential risks and bottlenecks to management and recommend practical solutions.
- Support smooth coordination between field operations and logistics teams
Reporting & Operational Compliance
- Maintain accurate operational records and field activity documentation.
- Monitor Field Officer performance against agreed objectives and operational targets.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, operational procedures, and community engagement protocols.
- Provide timely operational insights to support strategic decision-making
Candidate Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven experience managing field operations, rural projects, agricultural programs, or community-based initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience supervising remote or field-based teams.
- Experience working within agricultural value chains or rural development projects is highly desirable
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English, French, and Fulfulde (Mandatory).
Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of rural community dynamics within Adamawa and surrounding regions.
- Knowledge of agricultural sourcing, farmer engagement, and field data collection processes.
- Ability to prepare operational reports and performance updates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital reporting tools.
