Position Overview
We are seeking an analytical, forward-thinking, and financially astute Corporate Development
Analyst to support our strategic growth, capital raising, corporate transactions, and market expansion
initiatives. Operating at the intersection of capital markets, biotech infrastructure, and SaaS platform
scaling, you will build complex financial models, evaluate strategic investment opportunities, conduct
market research, and support transactions (equity, debt, climate finance, carbon markets, and strategic
partnerships).
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modeling, Valuation & Capital Raising Support
- Build and maintain three-statement integrated financial models, unit-economic models (per metric ton of waste/BSF output), and valuation frameworks for corporate expansion, CapEX projects, and SaaS unit scaling.
- Support capital-raising efforts across various asset classes: venture equity, infrastructure debt, developmental financial institution (DFI) concessions, blended climate finance, and carbon offset
monetization. - Prepare investor pitch decks, financial data rooms, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), and detailed responses to investor due diligence queries.
Strategic M &A, Partnerships & Joint Ventures
- Screen, evaluate, and perform financial due diligence on potential strategic opportunities, including asset acquisitions, joint ventures (JVs) with FMCGs/waste authorities, and technological partnerships.
- Assist in structuring commercial frameworks and joint-venture models for multi-hub bio-refining facilities and regional SaaS distribution across African markets.
- Conduct post-deal integration planning and performance monitoring for key strategic alliances.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Perform quantitative and qualitative market research on trends in waste-to-value infrastructure, animal feed protein markets (soybean meal/fishmeal pricing dynamics), bio-fertilizers, carbon credits, and digital ESG software.
- Benchmark company operational and financial metrics against global climate-tech, ag-tech, and B2B SaaS peers to identify efficiency gains and competitive moats.
- Synthesize macro-economic data (FX volatility, inflation, trade policies in Nigeria and broader Africa) into actionable risk mitigation and capital allocation strategies.
Corporate Growth Projects & Board Support
- Partner with engineering, operations, and SaaS product teams to build business cases and return on investment (ROI) models for expanding bio-refining sites, automated systems, or new software features.
- Assist in drafting board presentation materials, monthly executive briefs, strategic roadmaps, and key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards for executive leadership and external stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Modeling & Deal Accuracy: High accuracy, integrity, and prompt delivery of integrated financial models and investor-ready valuation decks.
- Transaction Execution Efficiency: Timely management and closure of data rooms, due diligence requests, and funding pipeline milestones.
- Strategic Insights: Quality and actionable depth of market intelligence reports, competitor analyses, and project feasibility studies.
- Stakeholder Support: Effective preparation of board presentations, investor reporting, and cross-functional strategic business cases.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Corporate Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a quantitative field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, corporate development, or transaction advisory within top-tier firms or high-growth tech/infrastructure ventures.
- Direct exposure to tech/SaaS, renewable energy, climate-tech, agribusiness, infrastructure, or manufacturing sectors in Emerging Markets (specifically West/Sub-Saharan Africa) is highly desirable.
Technical & Functional Competencies
- Advanced mastery of financial modeling (DCF, LBO, 3-statement models, scenario analyses) and corporate finance concepts.
- Strong grasp of capital structures, valuation methodologies, and investment evaluation standards (NPV, IRR, Payback Period).
- Familiarity with climate finance instruments, carbon monetization structures, or SaaS unit metrics (CAC, LTV, ARR, Net Revenue Retention) is a strong advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and strategic research/financial databases.
