Role Summary
The Team Lead, Retail Sales will be responsible for driving retail business growth through effective sales leadership, customer acquisition, relationship management, and team performance optimization.
The role will oversee the execution of retail sales strategies, monitor sales activities, and ensure the achievement of revenue and portfolio growth objectives.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, a passion for sales, and a proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams within a target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and execute retail sales strategies to drive business growth and market penetration.
- Identify new business opportunities and customer segments to expand the retail portfolio.
- Drive customer acquisition initiatives and ensure consistent achievement of sales targets.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and motivate retail sales team members to achieve individual and team objectives.
- Establish performance goals and monitor productivity across the sales team.
- Conduct regular sales reviews and performance assessments.
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development support to team members.
Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the sales lifecycle.
- Support the resolution of customer concerns and service-related issues.
- Drive customer retention, cross-selling, and portfolio expansion initiatives.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Monitor sales pipelines and conversion rates to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare and submit periodic sales performance reports and business updates.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer engagements, and business outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, sales procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional Qualification
- Relevant insurance certification (ACIIN) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years' retail sales experience within the insurance industry, preferably- Life Insurance
- At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
