ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head, Retail Operations serves as the operational backbone of the organization, ensuring that the company's strategic direction, brand standards, and performance expectations are consistently brought to life across all stores. This role transforms high‑level HQ strategies into structured, repeatable, and high‑impact operational practices that drive excellence on the shop floor.

Acting as the critical link between corporate vision and day‑to‑day retail execution, the Head, Retail Operations ensures that every store operates with precision, consistency, and a customer‑centric mindset. The quality of execution under this roles leadership ultimately determines whether each location stands out as a flagship retail destination—delivering exceptional experiences and operational brilliance—or fades into the landscape as just another electronics retailer.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

  • A bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain/Logistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in Retail, Operations, or Process Excellence—such as Lean or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent—along with project or operations management credentials (PMP, PRINCE2) are considered strong advantages.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years experience in retail operations, including oversight of multiple store locations.
  • Background in premium retail, consumer electronics, or telecommunications retail, ideally within global brand environments governed by strict standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling retail operations, minimizing shrinkage, and coaching Store Managers into high‑performing, capable leaders.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Practical management of multi‑store retail operations within premium or highly regulated environments.
  • Expertise in inventory management platforms, stock‑accuracy processes, and shrink‑control strategies.
  • Strong familiarity with global retail standards, audit‑driven cultures, and rigorous compliance requirements.
  • Deep understanding of key retail performance indicators and financial levers, including sales productivity, margin optimization, and inventory turnover.
  • Practical experience navigating the unique operational landscape in Nigeria, including logistics challenges, workforce variability, and security‑related considerations.
