ROLE SUMMARY
The successful candidate will primarily champion and oversee the development and enforcement of compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with regional regulations, operational standards, and governance requirements.
It leads enterprise‑wide strategy formulation, performance monitoring, and cross‑functional coordination to strengthen institutional effectiveness. The role also provides vision and oversight for technology modernization, guiding the implementation, and optimization of IT systems that enhance service delivery, data management, and operational efficiency.
It requires a blend of regulatory expertise, strategic insight, and technical leadership to support sustainable growth and organizational resilience.
ROLE FUNCTIONALITY
Compliance
- Ensure full compliance to all relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, and internal policies.
- Develop, review, and enforce compliance frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor organizational operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards.
- Maintain communication with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders regarding compliance-related matters. Identify potential compliance risks and coordinate the implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
- Oversee internal audits, compliance reviews, and the implementation of audit findings.
Strategy
- Lead the development, execution, and continuous monitoring of organizational strategic plans and performance frameworks.
- Deliver high‑level strategic advisory support to Management on institutional growth, operational efficiency, and long‑term sustainability.
- Conduct in‑depth strategic analyses, organizational assessments, and performance evaluations to inform decision‑making.
- Oversee and coordinate institutional planning, monitoring, and evaluation processes across departments.
- Produce comprehensive strategic and management reports for senior leadership and governing bodies to guide oversight and policy direction.
IT Oversight
- Provide governance‑level oversight of information systems to ensure alignment with organizational strategy, operational needs, and compliance obligations.
- Safeguard data integrity, security, and availability while ensuring systems effectively support regulatory reporting and overall operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams and external service providers to monitor system performance and guide upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution.
- Champion the adoption of digital tools and solutions that improve transparency, streamline processes, and strengthen compliance monitoring across the institution.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
- ACA or ACCA is compulsory
- BSc Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant disciplines
- Minimum of 4 years cognate experience in compliance / audit roles.
- Practical experience in strategy functions (support or oversight capacity)
- Interest, experience & exposure in IT / digital transformation is an added advantage
