Role Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Officer to support daily financial operations, reporting, and reconciliation activities. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, supporting budget monitoring, and ensuring compliance with internal financial controls.
This role is ideal for an early-career finance professional looking to build a strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, and business finance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
- Process financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Assist in the preparation of invoices, payment schedules, and expense documentation.
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly financial reconciliations.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and management accounts.
- Support budget tracking and variance analysis.
- Compile financial data for reporting and decision-making purposes.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.
Accounts Management
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and reconcile customer accounts.
- Assist with vendor payments and account reconciliations.
- Support cash management and banking activities.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audit exercises.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant finance, accounting, or bookkeeping experience.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ATS, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
